Do not use the cars.gov site!!!! 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 2
"This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer system and is the property of the U. S. Government. Any or all uses of this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign."

This is what you agree to when you go onto the cars.gov site for the cash for clunkers program to see if your car qualifies. DO NOT USE THIS GOVERNMENT SITE!!!! Are any of you getting this? Can you see whats going on?? Please, tell me if you disagree and why.

Your kidding right? Because things like this dont support the left leading agenda that the mainstream media wants to support. They are no longer just the "news" that goes after every story. They now pic and choose the stories they "feel" are really worth their time and ignore everything else.

Havnt you noticed that TMZ and the tabloids now crack stories instead of the manstream media? How sad is that?

Have you read through the provisions in the new health bill that give the government direct access to your all of your financial records in real time? Thats in plain black and white in the bill and they arent talking about that one either. I will find it and post it for you.

I listen to quite a bit of conservative radio and I haven't heard any mention of it -- and those guys usually pick up on stuff like this.

And yes, Obamacare scares me to death! (and maybe that's the idea!)

But in the end, why was it there in the first place?

Ray, I learned today that this is written for the DEALERS that log in and use the application process. Government trying to cut down on cheating and such...

It was taken down because it WAS poorly worded.

Glen Beck knows this, but went with it anyway. This kind of spin does our side no good. There is much more that is wrong with the program that should be focused on.

Um, this wingnut read large parts of the bill, and I hardly ever listen to Rush, and I really dislike Hanity. Does my opinion also get discarded because, well, its not the opinion of those currently in power?

I read the parts talking about having 24/7 access to my financial records, full access to all of my electronic fund transfers, and more. And then all that info gets slapped together with my health records all in the same place with the government. That is also specifically in the bill.

Tell me how that's good for my privacy? Please, marginalize that? Tell me how much of a nut I am for even worrying about it, and that I should just shut up and sit over in the corner because "my side" didn't win.

Actually this didn't get dealt with by the white house until after he did his piece on Friday. They did something about it Monday morning.

This is actually the type of thing the regular news is supposed to be doing for us on a daily basis. Find things like this, whether nefarious or just accidental. Publicize them so they get dealt with and move on to the next story. But instead investigative journalism is dead. All they do is report AP news and sit back and watch their papers wither and dye.

I think this country is socialized enough with insurance, Social Security, entitlement programs and such.

I think there are better solutions to be had within the current system instead of getting the government so involved in health care.

Such as: portability of insurance, reduction of state mandates, which require insurance companies to cover things that aren't really health related and that I don't really need (marriage counseling, Viagra, acupuncture, elective surgeries, etc), crafting of policies so that they are affordable for large groups such as the young (bare bones coverage), so that they don't depend on the ER when they DO break a leg and we end up paying; ability to purchase policies out of state, increasing competition. Make insurance into what it is for -- catastrophic costs. Re-do the system so that we pay for our maintenance costs; in other words, expose the everyday costs to the market so that competition comes into play and costs come down, then insurance rates come down and make it more affordable.

Re:Do not use the cars.gov site!!!! 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 2
There are other options that have been offered already that are being totally dismissed. But they are not preferred because of how they lump the unions together in the plan with us regular folks. If you notice with the current health care bill that we are being sold, the SEIU and all other unions are exempt from participating.

I just found out about the Healthy Americans Act. Now I haven't read all of it mind you, but it seems like a better solution from what I have read so far.

It specifically talks about Medicaid and other programs being absorbed into this one in order to create savings. This one guarantees your access to insurance. This one removes the tax write off from the business's and gives us direct tax credits. Which basically means you pay less in taxes every month and then use that extra money for health care. It opens up competition, and covers everyone in the country with no exceptions. The current bill suggests there will still be millions not covered.

Also, the CBO and others have stated that it would be budget neutral for the first few years and then start creating surplus's in the billions soon there after.

Isn't a plan like this one at least better to start talking about?? Seems like there is a lot less special interest garbage in it than the one they are trying to push down our throats?
