The year is half way over, summer is here, and there are many BSL, Dog regulations and other restrictive legislation being presented......

My question are.....

What do you think is most effective in changing a person minds when in comes to dog law(in general)?

What is least?

There is a huge population of dog owners, how do we get organize?

There are many orgaziations fighting a good fight, but should there be a "coalition" ?

good topic kelley. all of this legislation is soo frustrating. we've been battling anti-breeder & anti-tether legislation here in NC for about 18 months now. it's hard, because all the anti-dog legislation is always pitched using emotion, and we try to fight it with facts. the general public thinks too often with their hearts and not their heads - mob mentality and all that, so it's incredibly frustrating being part of an often small minority that is the small lonely voice of reason.

Problem in Florida is legislation's back door approach for the allowance of (often times) unsubstantiated euthanization of dogs under the guise of "dangerous dog laws". They allow for uninvestigated claims and word of mouth to be used as probable cause to destroy a dog.

Another is breeder regulation that is in full support of the animal rescue organizations across the state. These people show up in NUMBERS that would astound you. We need this type of turnout!!!

I am at a loss of what to do and I am for any sort of coalition or at least some kind of contact point, specifically for our breed, that can assist with: referrals,information and offer some sort of consistency!!!
